Why call "horse meat" to "Sakura meat"? There are various theories about this, but the representative ones are...In the days
when Buddhist thought was strong, killing and meat eat were forbidden. Because couldn't eat meat openly, it called the Wild-
Boar is "Botan (peony)", the Deer is "Momiji (autumn leaves)", and the Horse is "Sakura (cherry)" in the secret word and said
that it was eating secretly. Because it contains more iron than other meats, there is a theory that it becomes a vivid cherry color
when stewed in a ceramic pot.

Currently, only three areas of "horse meat eating culture" remain, Aizu region of Fukushima
prefecture, Kumamoto prefecture and Nagano prefecture. And when it comes to Sashimi, you
can't eat it unless it's especially fresh raw meat. Aizu-Bange town, which had developed as a
Shuku-eki (post-station-inn) on the Echigo-Kaidō road, had been actively engaged in horse
trading to the luggage transport. There seems to had been a horse auction market, too. From
that relationship, there was a custom of "eat horse meat" for a long time. "Horse meat" is
"Sakura (cherry) meat" from the color, Sashimi is called "Sakura-sashi (sashimi)". Recently, it
has attracted attention as a healthy diet from the point of being called low calorie, low
cholesterol, high protein, high mineral but, it is not very popular in the metropolitan where
fresh "horse meat" is hard to come by. In Aizu-Bange town, Basashi (horse meat sashimi) can
year for self-preservation, and in October, because the quality falls, it does not milling, so soba has a commitment to say that it
will be closed. It resumes in November of the Shin-Soba (New-Soba)  season. If you have a large number of people, make a

Ramen was called "Shina (China) soba" until the mid-1950s. Around the time of the Taishō period and the early Shōwa period,
the mainland of China was called "Shina". Chinese people who came to Japan as a labor force from the continent, "Lao Mieen"
as home-cooked dishes, was transmitted to the Japanese and spread as "Shina-soba(chinese noodle)".

At the end of World War II, by combining the noodle-beating technology that people returned from mainland China have gained
on the continent, and the soup that we have developed independently, they have completed the unique "Shina Soba" in Japan.
Now it’s, the name Ramen has become common. Using Aizu-Bange's traditional Soy sauce and Miso, it is based on refreshing
soup with seafood Dashi soup such as boiled dried fish in chicken soup with flat and wavy noodles. The old and new National
Route 49 are dotted with the eating place that offer Soba and Ramen, it has just like that a presents the appearance of
"Noodle-road" as well. In addition, eight Ramen shops offer "Cold Ramen" limited to summer, each shopkeeper devises in order
to make it "B-class gourmet" of Aizu-Bange town. In addition, it is rich in variations with soups that make use of the
characteristics of each store and toppings that make the most of the taste. It is glad that the pleasure of eating and walking
increases. There are some eating place where you can eat "Cold Ramen" in winter, so you should definitely try it.
In Aizu-Bange town, it is "Basashi (horse meat sashimi)" that should not be forgotten. It is red meat and there is no peculiar
smell peculiar to horse meat, and it is very popular with women because it is low in calories, high protein, low fat and healthy.
"B-class gourmet" in Aizu-Bange town is "Cold-Ramen" and "Basashi".
