Location of Aizu Bange town, Kawanuma-gun, Fukushima prefecture.
It is located at the West end of the Aizu basin, 37 degrees 33 minutes north, 139 degrees 49 minutes west, altitude 177m(Town
Hall). Located on same latitude as Greece Athens in EU with San Francisco in USA.

Population: 15, 720 people (as of July 1 2018).
The flower of the town is "chrysanthemum", the tree of the town is "Cherry", and the bird in town is "Nightingale".
The mountains on the west of town, it begins from Kano district of Kitakata City, and it reaches Nishimoto district of Aizu Misato
town through Unai, Mimyo and Toudera. Keicho 16 year (1611 year. When the confrontation between Tokugawa and Toyotomi
Family became violent) the length 34km, activity cycle is said to be 7,000 to 8,100 years, had caused the Aizu great earthquake.
The Aizu Basin western edge falt zone, is exists.
The epicenter of the Aizu great earthquake was located near Takiya, Mishima town Onuma-gun and the magnitude of the earthquake was 6.9 is estimated. It is thought that the seimic intensity was about 6
strong or to 7 because the epicenter was shallow. By the way, Aizu basin is sandwiched by another active fault. It begins from the
Kitashiobara village of Yama-gun, and it reaches the Shimogo town of Minami Aizu-gun through the Aizu Wakamatsu City, Ikki
- machi, Oto-machi . The length 49 km. It is call Aizu Basin east edge fault zone (reverse fault to uplift the east side).
Other prefectures people there are might be few people who read "Bznge" to "Sakashita"
of Chinese character. If you read it for
granted, it’s "Sakashita". Two theories have been conveyed about the etymology of "Bange".
In "Shinpen Aizu Fudoki", there was a
temple in Mt.Takadera and it flourished very much. Because it is a village which flourished down the hill, there is a theory called
"Bange", and there is a theory of saying that "Banke" or "Backe" which means "cliff " or "downstream" of the Ainu language.

Bange was located at the end of cliff in the Turunuma river. And as the town grow, the central location moved to west. In Medieval,
central location of town was around Kobange district, and more the west area was called Kurimura.
The origin of the place name
has become powerful the theory of saying that the Ainu word changed because the vicinity of the Kobange was surrounded by the
cliff and the riverside terrace eroded by the Turunuma river. You can see the north side in the Kobange area and the topography
around the Dainomiya Park.
Moreover, the whole Dainomiya Park is calld the Jomon ruins, it can be seen as a place of the life of
an ancient person, the thought goes round originated of "Bange" is the birthplace of the place.

Now the Turunuma river has become a thin flow. The original was flowing northern part of Aizu Misato town to Bange.
It is main flowing of Okawa today, which poured into the Sea of Japan while changing the name is Aga river in Aizu Yamato area
district and Agano river in Niigata Prefecture.
Near Bange, the river width was around 800m.
The name of Turunuma river remained in the Aizu Bange town while it changed the flow direction by "Big flood of white beard" in
Tenmei year (1781 ~ 1788 year at Tenmei’s famine) and became current Okawa's flow.

Aizu Bange town's Takadera lore that may change Buddhist history of Japan.
Aizu Bange town is overflowing town of ancient romantic with secrets that may greatly change the Buddhist history of Japan.
The symbol is the Kamega-mori and Chinjyu-mori Kofun(tumulus) of the Aozu district, the Kofun of large and small of the towns
are the most densely area in the Tohoku District in excess of one hundred.
In 3rd centuries around ancient Aizu Bange before the
Yamato government established, the Royal Prerogative State existed. What kind of King’s grave, or the people who were involved
in the Yamato government and the royal family Saitama Kofun Group, when I think about it, I forget the passage of time.

When I was a child, the origin of the name of "Bange" and "Takadera lore" were heard from grandparents and father well.
The "Takadera lore" is the one that the monk Seigan of Chinese Liang Country enters Aizu in the Enperor’s Kinmei 1st year(540
year), and hermitage managing to Takadera-yama(Mt.), and it is called "Takadera".

At that time, Buddhism was still before propagating to eastern Japan, and it was said that it had prospered since the temple had
ruled over 3,000 and thewestern part of the Aizu Basin.

However, Hoki 6 year (775 year, the time of Emperor Shomu) was abolished in fire of war.
It is also said that the Yamato government, which wants to strengthen the Ritsuryo system, instructed the Aizu Gunga(local affairs
facility), to seduces and attacked Tennei-ji temple( Higashiyama Aizu Wakamatsu city) poeples.
The "Introduction of Buddhism" in
the history of Japan is said to have contributed to the Buddhist statues and scriptures from Kudara(one country of old Korea) in
538 year, but the Tohoku region of the 6th century was "the country of the not allegiance people" the Ezo lived.
Though it was regional country Aizu in the frontire, it is the one that it was proudly heard from  grandparents, my father and
neighborhood elders to said, "There was a Buddhist Kingdom of the directly conveyed from China".

The mystery of poetry, stand and before, sit and behind,of Yamabuki(Japanese rose), Golden thousand barrels, Shu(Vermilion)
thousand barrels, is under the Three leaves Utsugi(Japanese bladdernut). It is the one that the treasure was concealed buried in
the ground, and Yamabuki and Three leaves Utsugi was made a mark. It is to say that there was an event which confirms this
mystery in the Meiji time. After that, a number of peoples have challenged, but the mystery has not been solved yet.

If it is physically confirmed that the investigation of the vicinity of Mt. Takadera and saying that "tradition" is "true", the Buddhist
history of Japan will be a big incident which must be greatly rewritten. That's why I would like to expect a detailed academic
research andresearch on the "Takadera" area in the future.

A lot of shrines, temples, and ruins are scattered related the Takatera tradition in the Aizu Bange town, and it seems to hear the
voice and the footstep of the bygone days people when it visits them.

Town of commerce Aizu Bange. The old Aizu Bange was dotted of house to Kobange(around the Goshoku shrine~around
Takasago-ya shop), Furumachi-Kawashiri (Furumachi-Kawashiri complex and surrounding area) and Kurimura(around Jorinn-ji
temple). It is said that it shifted the residence to the hill a little bit and little by the avoiding from flood.

The medieval Aizu was under the reign of Mr. Ashina's 400 years, but Mr. Ashina will be destroyed by the invasion of Masamune
Date. When Hideyoshi Toyotomi, who was furious with this, entered Aizu and got eliminated of Masamune Date to Yonezawa
Yamagata. He was made the Lord of Aizu to Ujisato Gamo, the son-in-law of Nobunaga Oda, the most excellent from the vassal
group.
It is said that Hideyoshi Toyotomo was afraid of the ability of the Ujisato Gamoh, who had been seen as the successor of
Nobunaga Oda from the circumference, and was moved to Aizu because the trust of Nobunaga Oda was thick, and there was an
education and virtue. The town was redevelopment into Kan’ei 2 year (1625 year) at the time of the grandchild Tadasato of Ujisato,
and a straight road of length about 915m and width about 9m was established between East and West. This is the current street,
the former Echigo Road, old Route 49. At this time, the North-back street of the current which had previously been a Echigo Road
was made a straight line, and the South-back street was provided the road of the straight line to the south of the counter side at the
same time.

The Edo period, when asked the distance from Bange to Wakamatsu Castle (Aizu Wakamatsu city), the Shimotsuke Road to
Takada (Aizu Misato town's Takada district), the Numata Road to Yanaizu (Yanaizu town, Kawanuma-gun), the Bange Road to
Kitakata (Kitakata city), and Shiokawa (Shiokawa town, Kitakata city) and so on, from the answer to the ending "San-Ri (about 12
km)," so it's called "the Stupid(Baka) San(3)-Ri(12 km) of Bange", and commercial activity became active making the most of the
advantage of this place.

Especially, because there is a beautiful spring water everywhere, the Sake brewing, the brewery of Miso and Soy sauce other the
Kimono shop, the Rice fertilizer sales business, the Fish shop, etc.
It has got the neighborhood village into a trade area, had a great
prosperous to commercial town.

Many of those have established are tradition and formality, but incorporated the new breath they are without being left behind by
the wave of the times and continue to businesses powerfully while uniting tradition and innovation.
